Retailers are the face of Thinking Of You Week!

Thinking of You Week is a great way for retailers to draw people into the store and drive deeper engagement with the greeting card category. By encouraging your customers to send a card a day you’ll be helping to generate more positive connectivity across the country. The USPS has supported this event for the last 3 years with a Thinking of You postmark for the entire month of September, bringing this campaign into 500 million households!

On this page you will find lots of ideas on how retailers can get involved with this fabulous event.

What can Retailers Do?

We’ve got all the artwork you need in our toolkit to help you bring the Thinking Of You Week spirit right inside your store.

Download and print posters and other signage from the toolkit.

Schedule social media posts using imagery from publishers whose cards you sell.

Follow and share social media content from @thinkingofyouweek, #thinkingofyouweek, #sendacarddeliverasmile, #cardstories, on Instagram. You can also use these hashtags on Facebook and Twitter.

Do you send out periodic e-mail newsletters to your customers? Maybe you can send something printed in the post or door drops? We’ve got just what you need in our toolkit to ensure you don’t miss a trick in promoting Thinking of You Week.

As a retailer, you can shop 30K+ cards from 80+ greeting card publishers in the GCA Marketplace. Sign up today to get access to the best cards from the best makers – all members of the non-profit Greeting Card Association!

Engage with your local community

Invite your customers to bring their families to a card writing event in your store, or organize this virtually using Facebook or Instagram. Or if space is limited, collaborate with a local coffee shop instead.

Everyone loves a competition, especially younger kids. Set a simple brief, and ask your customers to enter their designs, with the best ones being displayed in your shop window for Thinking of You Week.

Everyone loves a freebie, so show your customers you’re thinking of them during Thinking of You Week by offering a promotion – “buy 3 get one free” for example.

Make it easy for your customers to post their cards by selling stamps too. Or go a step further and offer to stamp and mail any cards that are written in store.

Remember USPS will be supporting Thinking of You Week this year!
